Indigestion, more commonly known as upset stomach, is not a disease but a general term that describes symptoms of discomfort in your upper abdomen.
Symptoms
- Burning in the stomach or upper abdomen
- Upper abdominal pain
- Bloating (full feeling)

- Acidic taste
- Uncomfortable fullness after eating
Treatment
- Lifestyle changes, such as avoiding certain foods, eating five or six small meals a day instead of three large meals, reducing/eliminating alcohol and caffeine, and controlling stress and anxiety.
- Medication to reduce or block acid production
- Antibiotics
